When I'm really into a book my brain starts to think like the author. I remember first noticing this as a kid. I started narrating my life in my head and I still do it. The tone and point of view change, based on what I'm reading. It makes my life seem more interesting, and it's entertaining. When I was in elementary school I was sure I'd be an author one day. I remember how much I loved putting those books together for an assignment. Writing a story, drawing the pictures. My dad is an excellent story teller and I hear his stories and his voice in my head. From the ones he made up to help me go to sleep as a child, to the way he recollects the stories of his past.
Photos also tell stories and in this modern world cameras are much more accessible. Most of us have one in our back pocket. We share a window into each others lives, and glimpses into our minds. I often find myself debating whether or not to stop and capture a moment. I wonder if I'm capturing it for myself to look back on, or to share and hope that it connects me to someone.
